We bought a 1990 Mitsubishi from Reid's Auto Sales and within 1 month of ownership the throw out bearings and clutch failed. They claimed they replaced the entire transmission and then charged us for the labor. 1 week later the transmission failed again. This time they told us they would fix it but we would have to pay for a towing fee, parts and labor. We were told by their own mechanic that Reid's knew the transmission was bad and sold it to us without making any attempt to fix it.
We can't afford to keep fixing this car so we told them to keep the car and now they are trying to force us to sign a voluntary repossession report which would destroy our credit rating. We have refused and are now filing this report with the better business bureau.
Due to the situation we don't expect that they will be able to help us but we are filing anyway to make sure it never happens to anyone else ever again. We didn't find out till later that Reid's has a reputation of doing this and that they have done the exact same thing to other people in the past that they have just done to us.
Beware all consumers!!! If you plan to buy a car check out the reputation of the dealership and if you have any problems fight back and fight back hard. Don't let this happen to you too. Sincerely,
