Riped off with no proof

On december 24 i had slid on some ice and slightly rear ended the person infront of me i was going less than five miles per hour so there was very little damage done. I unfortunately had a small lapse in my ins. The person I hit said it's Christmas tomorrow don't worry about it. So we exchanged information and went on our way.

In May I received a bill from progressive for 2,400. I was unemployed and not making much from unemployment. I called them up and explained that I couldn't afford to pay 2,400 at that time. We discussed a payment plan and then after that i hadn't heard nor received any updated bills until march.

In the middle of June I came into a small amount of money and was finally able to afford to pay the whole bill off and get it over and done with. I called up progressive to find out that my bill was now almost 10,000 dollars and they refused to send me a new bill. To top that they would not accept my partial payment because my money was no longer good for their company for the bill i have received in the past.

So I called the credit company Insurex (which I found out later that they are not an accredited better business bureau). They explained to me that the driver and passanger needed surgeries because the accident we had ended up doing damage to both of their spines... So I explained to them that I did not have almost 10,000$ I had just started working and am making just over minimum wadge.

So we came up with a payment plan of 50$ a month for good faith and then we would discuss settling the payment i owed and be over and done with the payments. So all i asked from them was a bill stating that i owed this amount of money. So they gave me the whole song and dance about how they'll send it too me as soon as they get the first payment of the 2,400 which i had to western union to them.

Well its been almost 3 months I still have not received a bill, a payment plan, nor any information that the money has been received or that i owe the money... How ever I am receiving harassing phone calls to my personal phone, my parents my grandparents, my boyfriend and his family as well as my job and no one is giving me any information the Progressive customer service is extremely rude and refuses to speak to me like a person and because of all this harassment I risk losing my job.

I hope this information helps anyone who reads this at least in knowing you're not alone in going threw what I am going threw.
