Kick you while you're down

Last Saturday I was in my first car accident, hit and run. I was in a desolate location and considerably shaken, my vehicle was totaled. As I was trying to get in contact with police a tow truck from City One Towing came to my assistance. I informed him I was on hold with some police agency and he kept insisting that I tell police it was a minor incident, and to hang up. We left the scene of the accident because It wasn't a 'safe' place, and he pulled over next to a gas station. I went to my vehicle and started removing my personal items, he began to rush me saying that it was a busy night and he had to go. I ignored him at first but he continued to hurry me and he assured me that my vehicle would be locked and secure on their property. He gave me a business card with no address, only two phone numbers, one of which was out of service. As well as a pink carbon copy of my personal information I provided, where he crossed out with a pen the address and phone number printed on the pink slip. He just told me to call later in the day, to give them permission to release the vehicle to my insurance company. Before I had time to react he was gone, he did not provide me with an address to where my car was going to be held. He just kept repeating, don't worry your insurance will handle everything. Once I began calling the 3 phone numbers provided I found one to be disconnected and the other two were cell phone voice mailboxes. The people these phones belonged to would ignore my calls, allowing 2 rings and sending it to a full voice mailbox. Finally toward the evening I came to the conclusion that my car was stolen, I searched the tow/impound database and my vehicle was not in it. It had been more than 18 hours after the tow. The next morning I went to my local police station and the officer manning the front desk heard me out and started dialing the numbers I had, and was able to contact an employee on his cell. He precedes to inform the officer that they are closed weekends which the driver forgot to mention. He gave the officer another phone number and a different address than what was scratched out on the pink slip by the driver. Also informing me that I would have to call Monday morning to schedule when I can pick up the rest of my property from the vehicle and verbally release my car to them. At the lot I saw that my car was completely unlocked, they had stolen a portable car battery charger, and various Ipod gadgets totaling more than $150. The driver assured me that my car would be locked and he kept trying to stop me from taking out my belongings, because he was in a rush to leave. On top of that my insurance company attempted pickup and they did not release the car, even though I personally went to the tow lot and released my vehicle. If they attempt to remove parts from my vehicle they are going to have serious problems. Talk about kicking you while your down, I was in a serious accident, I was visibly shaken and distressed. This whole experience is an ongoing nightmare, this is not a legitimate company, do not under any circumstances attempt to do business with these people.
