False DRU Claim

This started like a holiday... We hired an automobile in the Charleston, SC Airport area. We received the 2nd-to-last vehicle within the ton - an unprotected ton without walls or team to check on vehicles/documents when departing. We'd the vehicle for just one week and were thinking about returning it towards the Charleston airport until our trip was ended the night time before starting because of upcoming climate. We got a trip out-of Myrtle Beach instead. We named the 800# for Business customer support plus they mentioned that people may return the vehicle to Myrtle Beach airport area to get a $40 charge. We slipped off the vehicle at 7:45 within the AM at Myrtle Beach - it really mentioned etc the bill. The vehicle was good. The Business worker outdoors scanned the vehicle and offered us a bill – the bill was wrong so we strolled inside towards the table and fixed the mistake. Ready. End-of account? We considered so. Over fourteen days later we obtained a notice within the email from Business declaring that "Your Harm Restoration Device has gotten notice of harm or reduction" to the rental. It requested to get a charge card or insurance info. Which was it - no explanation of the "damage.”

We started two hours of calling various figures to be able to discover what was happening - it had been 4pm. The very first time we named the DRU (Harm Restoration Device) we got their voicemail - and quit a note requesting an instantaneous telephone call back. We subsequently named the Myrtle Beach area where we delivered the vehicle to be able to learn more about that “damage.” No solution but quit a voice-mail. We also known as the 800# customer support and requested to find out more by what this harm was. They didn’t understand however they agreed to move people to somebody who may help. The client support representative moved us to Roadside Assistance - clearly they mightnot help us. We named DRU again and got a worker who searched up the DRU state quantity but stated there is no body there to assist - it had been around 5pm today - we informed her we needed a call-back and he or she barked "okay" and hung-up on-US. We named the Charleston area plus they responded the telephone. We requested to find out more about the harm. They stated that the harm was called into them in the Myrtle Beach area at 7:30am your day we delivered it. Therefore the harm statement was released fifteen minutes before we delivered the vehicle. Fascinating. Charleston believed to contact Myrtle Beach to discover exactly what the harm was. We named Myrtle Beach again and got voicemail again and again – we'd previously quit a note earlier. Therefore we waited plus they called back around 5:45pm. Myrtle Beach stated they recall us dropping-off the vehicle but they dropped the harm paperwork and offered us another quantity to demand the DRU division. We named that quantity but got exactly the same division. A worker responded the telephone and stated they're shut – it had been nearly 6pm. She believed to call-back between 8am and 6pm. We again stated we needed a call-back and he or she believed to contact rather tomorrow. (Imagine she'd a hot-date.)

We called the DRU division and lastly talked to some good worker who stated that the harm was a nick within the window. We mentioned that people didn’t observe any damage or did we get any harm. We also stated that whenever we acquired the vehicle in Charleston that it had been within an unprotected ton with no attendant examining automobiles so when we delivered it to Myrtle Beach the worker didn't perform a walkaround. We mentioned that it had been really aggravating to get a notice that didn’t clarify any specifics and just requested for either charge card or insurance info. The worker stated she'd look after it an recognized our issues which it'd consider about thirty days to complete. Sadly for Business we'd previously determined the night time before never to lease from Business again. Rude DRU workers, obscure and accusatory words, absent paperwork and unsecure methods supports our choice to not hire from their website again.
