I had to have a stabilizer link replaced in my car, so I called a few shops and collected estimates. Then I stopped by Tuffy located in Euclid, Ohio, and was given an estimate of $95 which sounded good. I came back next morning, had the thing installed, and to my horror, was presented with a bill twice as much. Turned out that the above estimate was for ONE SIDE only, while the actual price would be double that.
I wasn't happy about that and voiced my disappointment. It doesn't feel good to be taken advantage of, when you happen not to be very knowledgeable about car problems. I had no idea there would be 2 of those links to be replaced to begin with. I've never even seen those.
After I expressed my unhappy feelings about the situation, the shop clerk went into the shop, and came back a while later with a new number. $125. I paid that, yet still I feel being, well, not treated right. Another shop down the street would have done the same thing for a hundred $. And it's not only the money that matters, but being taken advantage of. Needless to say, I will never ever come to Tuffy again.
I e-mail customer support on the Tuffy website, and low and behold, someone calls me from the local Tuffy but hangs up on my answering machine (I viewed the number of the caller on my caller ID). End of story.
I still want my $30 back. One side? I am not going to go from shop to shop and have each side fixed in each place. They must be kidding.
