On 2/23 I purchased via the Internet a used VW van engine. It was supposed to be tested, guaranteed to work and have 43, ooo miles on it.
Once delivered to the auto shop in Oklahoma, the mechanics found that the valve cover had a large hole in it. Once it was removed they found rust all over the camshaft and valves. To determine if the cylinders were also rusted the top of engine was lifted and they found lots of rust in the cylinders. The no 5 cylinder was so bad that the piston was rusted or frozen in place and the camshaft could not be rotated.
The engine was totally unusable and not working, as guaranteed. I requested a refund of $2,399.99 paid as well as cost of having the engine examined $265.85.
The seller refused. I am filing with as many Federal, state and local agency I can find and if not successful will file a cmall claims action. I hope anyone in a similar situation will do the same.
I will continue to go after this company until I have an acceptable resolution.
