I bought a used engine from Josh M. Of Regions Auto Parts on March 11. Josh told me that the engine had 41,912 miles on it & was in good condition. He said that it would be shipped as soon as he received my credit card authorization. I faxed the document on 03/11. And waited. The part arrived on 03/24.
To make a long story short, the engine has "rod knocking" & is no good. I did a little research with the tracking # & found out that the engine was sold to Prestige Auto Parts (partner, affiliate, or alias of Regions Auto Parts) by noname, Pensacola FL. I called noname & inquired about the engine sold with tracking # xoxoxoxo (yrc.com) & they told me that the engine had 184,000 miles on it. I called Regions to see what they would do to fix the situation, & they told me to look at my warranty - ship it back at my expense. They do not cover labor etc. That would be understandable IF they actually sent me an engine in good condition with 41,912 miles on it.
After a little more research, I found 3 similar complaints against Regions Auto Parts at consumer complaints. Complaints #703810, #689455 & #694815 sound just like mine. At this point, I'll be out shipping 2 ways & labor to my mechanic, approx. $850.00, IF regions refunds the cost of the engine.
& I still need an engine.
