I purchased a Solenoid Shift Block and Gasket on ebay from a company calling itself Quality Transmission Parts. They had low cost parts and offered a 3 YEAR WARRANTY. Wow I was all over that. I ordered the part for my Plymouth Voyager and paid with Paypal. The part came in a timely manner and looked okay. I installed it on my van transmission. My van transmission still did not work. I did not blame the part initially because I had other things to check out before I could say that the part he sold me was not good.
After a month or so of trying to find any other problems with my van I decided to look that part over again and lo and behold it was leaking trans fliud out of the electrical connector. The part he had sold me was obviously defective and had a hairline crack somewhere inside of the electrical component rendering it no good.
Well since I had a 3 year warranty I thought I would have no problem getting them to replace it. But I was wrong.
First they were pretending to be OUT OF BUSINESS by ignoring emails. But fortunately they had put their phone number in the auction and I called them. They are very much still in the business of under the name Quality Transmission Parts and are appently still ripping off people with their fake warrantees and their defective parts.
A search on google will show you others complaining about being ripped off. They are no longer a registered user on eBay but if you read their feedback you can see they left other people hanging with defective parts or parts that they never shipped out.
So I called them on the phone. You get an answering machine because they are screening all the calls trying to avoid the people who they have ripped off. I left my name and phone number and a man named SCOTT returned my call. He told me to return the defective part for a replacement. So I mailed back the defective part in January. The tracking number says they recieved it January 26th.
I waited a month for them to send me a part but they did not. So today I call them to find out where is my part. Again I leave my name and number with an answering machine. I recieve a call from Scott a couple minutes later. As I am explaining that I am waiting for a replacement part he hangs up on me!!! I tried to call 3 more times only to have my call disconected as soon as the number started ringing. I waited a while and called again. This time I got the answering machine again. Left my name and number again. No response.
Not only did I pay for the part but I paid to return it to him and I guess he figures he can just rob people and get away with it. He TOLD me to return the part for a replacement. I guess that is what he should do is replace it. I hate rip offs and will all in my power to get the word out that this guy is a rip off.
