This weekend I went into Toth Autogroup to loo at some cars, I found one that I thought suited me. The car wouldn't start, it had a dead battery which I could understand would be normal due to lights being left on. When I went on the test drive the car didn't run the greatest but drove decently at the time, but both Doug and Jay assured me that the car only ran that way because of how long it sat. I mentioned several things that seemed wrong with the car, burning oil, pulley's alternator. I was assured that the car was fine.
After I purchased the car I had to go back to my house to to grab some things to finish the purchase and Doug had to accompany me. That 5 minute drive home was horrendous, the car barely ran for the first minute and almost died several times. The whole time Doug the salesman tried convincing me that the car ran the way it did because it sat for months, although Jay told me at the frequently drives the car to get lunch. When I finally got to my place the car pretty much died It took about thirty minutes try and get it running and another ten minutes to make a 5 minute drive.
When I got back to the lot I told both Jay and Doug that I didn't want the car. It didn't seem like it wa as reliable as it was portrayed to be nor was it safe. Both Jay and Doug told me to drive it for a day and if it kept running the way it did then bring it back.
The next day, which was Valentine's day I attempted to return it. The car died in the middle of the intersection which almost caused me to get T-Boned, after a minute or so the car started back up. I got to the lot and explained to Jay that the car barely ran, it's died several times and I don't want it, I wanted to return the vehicle and wanted my cash and check. He told me absolutely not. He told me that he saw me drive it in and that's all he needed. After several minutes of going back and fourth I decided to leave I had my wife and kids waiting for me. I got in the car and tried leaving, but surprise, surprise the car died on me again and would not start, by that time Jay and his mechanic were sitting in a different car, smoking and pretty much laughing at my expense. I walked over a told asked Jay how I am suppose to drive a car that wont run and keep's dying. Jay blew smoke in my face and told me he saw me drive it in the lot. I asked him what I was suppose to do now with a car that didn't run, Jay said to walk over, start it up and drive it. I told him It wont start, I can't. Still smoking and blowing it in my face, Joe told me to push the car out of the way and he'll have someone look at it. I refused to move it, but left the key. After I got into my wife's car Jay walked up and wanted to make sure we knew he wasn't trying to screw us over. While talking to my wife and and, although he wasn't talking rude to us he used fowl language in front of my 5 year old son and 8 month old daughter. My wife and I left.
We returned the next day, Jay said he can't figure out whats wrong with. He tried getting us in several cars, we only wanted our money back. He refused. So the only choice we had was try and get another vehicle. He wanted more money we explained we didn't have anymore, The Jay told me I could give him guns, or a flat screen tv, or x box. I've never heard of anything like that in my life. I was shown a few other cars, one of which wasn't road legal and other needed more money down, after which Jay went out to the lovely car I purchased the day before got it running, Peeled out several times in the parking lot, came in and told me he got it running and it drove fine... Yeah right. I had no choice. I had to take it.
The Next day my lovely piece o' crap started up fine. I started my drive to work early in fear that it would die. And boy did it. Once in the middle of an intersection, Pushed it out of the way waited 15 minutes and it started, and several times on 205, this caused me to be 30 minutes late for work and could possibly mean my job.
Now I have no idea what to do.
