CGR - Jason Reid Defrauded a Mother and U.S. Army Soldie

I am writing to make other consumers aware of the unfair and malicious treatment we dealt with when receiving vehicle repairs at "Superior Transmission" on Floyd Road in Columbus, Georgia. I am recently separated from the U.S. Army on a Honorable Discharge from Active Duty as a Combat Medic. Myself, my spouse, and my three children were on our way home from Fort Sam Houston, TX, back to our hometown of Columbus, GA, when the transmission went out on my 2002 Honda Accord in Baton Route, LA. We were frustrated and stranded hundreds of miles from home and unfortunately it was one (1) week before Christmas and needless to say, we were disheartened by your situation. Ultimately, we had to rent a car to get home, and subsequently, my husband, father-in-law, and my father had to drive over 16 hours (both ways) to retrieve my vehicle by use of a hitch and a heavy-duty pick-up. Once my vehicle was here in Columbus, GA, my husband began to search for the best place to get our transmission fixed and serviced so that it could operately safely and properly. We called around and looked for the best deals which would hopefully included financing, which we desperately needed due to my current discharge. "Superior Transmission" came to light when their ad listed in the yellow pages stated "Financing for ALL... No one will be denied." Therefore, my husband took our Honda to their place of business on the corner of Buena Vista Road and Floyd Road and spoke to their owner Jason. Jason advised that financing is approved for all andwe could leave the vehicle there for him to look over and make an estimate. Within 48 hours, Jason contacted my husband while we were on the way to my firstprenatal appointment at Martin Army Community Hospital on Fort Benning, and advised that the transmission will need to be re-conditioned and it would cost $2,300. Jason asked verbally for consent to begin the neededrepairs and myhusband obliged. The next day we completed the application for financing and we were on our way to a costly repair but felt at ease with Jason and "Superior Transmission". Days later, Jason advised us that we were not approved for financing with his outside company that he utilizes, however, he would permit us to pay "Superior Transmission" until the repairs were completed. We immediately paid $200 towards the repairs, and another $200, two weeks later. Every two weeks, we gave "Superior Transmission" approximately $200 towards the payment of our $2,300 bill for a reconditioned transmission plus parts, labor, etc. We began to feel that this might not be the best way, so we decided we needed to try to get financed through another method. We went to "Superior Transmission" to obtain a copy of the bill to take to another lender possibly, and the bill had changed from $2,300 to an insane $4,300.

This amount, $4,300, was the cost of two (2) re-conditioned transmissions according to Legacy Ford and the Fort Benning Automotive Skills Service Center. "Superior Transmission" then advised us that he was tired of taking our payments and threatened to auction off our car if we did not pay the full $4,300 by the end of April. This was a complete surprise to myself and my husband. We had entrusted our vehicle and a huge chunk of our hard-earned income to this establishment and their owner, Jason, has decided to take this type of action. We have spoken to other people in Columbus, and "Superior Transmission" may possibly have a pending civil case against them in Superior Court in the month of May due to actions such as this. We are now required to pay $4,300 for services that shouldcost half that amount and due to the cost, we cannot afford a lawyer to even handle the legal ramifications that should be broughtagainst "Superior Transmission" for their malicious actions not only against a customer but to a veteran and her family. I hope that this deters any new customers from bringing their vehicles to "Superior Transmission" for repair and helps people to make sure that they keep proper documentation and get 2ND and 3RD opinions when getting major repairs done to your vehicle. UPDATE: When I took Jason Reid and Superior Tranmission to court in the judge dismissed my case because I was suppose to sue CGR, Inc., and not Superior Transmission. Believe this! The bailiff advised me at the elevator that Jason's attorney, Mr, Flowers, do this to many customers so I need to get a lawyer to continue on. Also, Mr. Flowers and the judge were "good ol' boys" so they disenfranchised myself and my family without care. All I can say, is karma is vengeful.
