Is trying to charge me $1100 for a fuel pump, for an in warranty car, California

I always wanted to own a Subaru, which in this country are expensive. However I managed to buy one in 2008 thinking that it was the best purchase I've even done in my life. I was extremely happy and satisfied with my purchase, until now.

The problem is that the fuel pump got defective for no apparent reason. Even though the car has 1 year warranty left, the Subaru authorized repair facility people is telling me that I have to pay over $1100 to have that part replaced.

When I purchased this car I thought it had 3 year warranty for manufacturing issues. I always take my car to the only local Subaru authorized facility for service, it's not cheap, but I always wanted to have the best for the investment I did 2 years ago, you could even ask for my repair file over there.

The authorized car facility people are telling me that electrical issues are not covered, which made me wonder why am I paying for a 3 year warranty car which doesnt cover an issue (defective fuel pump) that usually should not happen in at least 10 years.in Subaru cars I know it could be more because of its supposed quality.

Interesting to mention too, I took the car before because it started to give trouble for not starting up. It happen to me once, I worked it out to get the engine started, then took it to the authorized repair facility. They couldnt find anything wrong at the moment. Then, after 2-3 weeks, the cars died, it was not starting at all.
