Working Man's Auto
RIP-OFF place! Worst dealership in TEXAS!

So, we didn't have perfect credit! We are normal hard working people trying to raise our kids. We purchased a vehicle from this place, paid $4000.00 down in February. Our goal was to pay off & mail the report to all 3 credit bureaus, to establish & rebuild our credit. Upon the initial payments I noticed they seemed off schedule. We immediatley call Working Mans Auto & asked why? The salesman at the time told us that the payments were every 2 weeks. I was kinda surprised because we specifically asked for the due dates to coincide with our paydates prior to signing the contract. Never the less we asked to have the dates changed to our paydates so it wouldn't reflect a late payment. They declined 3 months I continued to pay my car note & argue to please change dates, I offered to please set it for automatic draft & debit my account every pay period. They declined & refused to change the dates. I was upset but continued to make my payments every 2 weeks even though the dates did not coincide. 8 months into paying the vehicle (October) I received a call at my job from "Riley" stating that we were "late" I explaine dto him that I was getting paid the following day & would call him in the morning with my creditcard. The following morning I did just that. I called & asked them to charge the current amount on my card. "Michelle" notified me that we were a payment behind because of the way the due dates were set up, so I now owed $360.00. I was not prepared to pay that but offered to pay the current $200 & told her that in 2 days I would take in the other $160, they refused to accept my payment because it wasn't in "full" this was at 9am at 2pm they repo my car! I was furious & called them, why would they do that? I was giving them money that morning & all 'Michelle" did was tell me that we always paid late! Ha! I explaine dto her that she knew they were wrong because we tried to clear this by changing the dates way in advance. She told us we now owed repo fee plus all sorts of fees = $800, I called borrowed money & by 4pm I called her back to charge the $800 on my card. They declined & said that since they had repo the car I had defaulted on the loan & that I had to wait on Mr. Morris to see if he was still willing to finance me/us to call back. That afternoon at 5pm they told me he did not want to reinstate us & we had 10 days to refinance the $10,000 of course no bank re-finances an upside down loan on a used vehicle! So that is it! End of story, he screwed us. I tried talking to Mr. Morris only to find out what a scum he truly is, while I could go into details as to how this dealer treats people! I would like to inform the public of the following:
1. DO NOT BUY from him!
2. I found out he does not have a financing license to do in house financing like he does.
3. There has been 3 complaints filed on BBB mine would have been the 4th but I refused to mediate with this man.
4. He does not hold a license to tow with TDLR He can't tow your vehicle with a wrecker.
I have filled a complaint with TXDMV, OCCC & ATTORNEY GENERAL... If he scummed you, I suggest you do the same. I work hard for my money & just because I don't have perfect credit does not give anyone the right to steal from me.
