In April my husband and I went to Des Plaines Auto Sales. The salesman went with us on 3 test drives. We test drove, a Toyota Corolla, A Ford Focus and a Chevy Venture Van. We asked the salesman what would be required of us if we chose one of the vehicles. He said we needed to talk to the owner Sam. So we decided on the 2000 Chevy Venture. We talked to the owner Sam and he said all he required was 500.00 down and then our payment would be 150.00 every 2 weeks. That was fine with us. So we said okay and then as we were half way through signing all of the paper work Sam told us that he would give us a temporary permit so we could drive the vehicle but he also stated that we need to come up with another 160.00 besides our regular payment for him to go down and get the license Plates that he did not put that in the financing. Ok so we agreed to that and then we signed all of our papers and he put them in the envelope and when I got in the vehicle to drive it off I noticed 2 thing first the check engine light was on so he scoped it and came up with a code of the gas cap being off so we he put that on and reset the light and it was fine but then going through the paper work there was no contract in the envelope. Sam told us that it would take him a couple of hours to type it up and then he would either mail it or we could pick it up. My husband called a few hours later and it still was not ready but he was working on it. Called again still got no where. Well in driving the vehicle and never receiving the contract we noticed the gas gauge did not work we told him this and he said that he would fix it but we would have to leave it. We said we would find a day that would work and do that once we got our contract. On 5/11/09 I was at work and the repo people showed up at my office wanting the vehicle. I talked to them and then called Sam and he said because my payment was due on 5/8/09. So I told Sam I would drive over and give him the payment which I did and it would be fine so the repo people followed me over and blocked me in like I was some Criminal and I went in talked to Sam he sent the repo people away I was about to give him the $150.00 payment when he advised me that I need to pay him another $500.00 to pay the repo people. I asked him for what he said for sending them out. I put the $150.00 back in my purse emptied the vehicle and left. He is a rip off artist he is a buy here pay here does not do a credit check and if you are 1 day late with your payment weather you call him or not he will send out the repo people.
