I had a car that was financed by this company. I was behind on 2 payments due to moving to a new state and having trouble finding work. I called and explained my circumstances and was told about my payments being rearranged and what not, 2 days later my car was gone. So I was given notice of what remained in August and by October it was charged off. I then started getting the phone calls from First Financial Asset Management about repayment of the debt, I called Americredit to make sure this is where they sent my debt and it was. I made a settlement agreement with FFAM and paid as agreed and still to this day it says I owe Americredit $1072 on all of my credit reports. I have called FFAM since just to make sure it was paid and closed and they state that it is, however when I've asked for documented proof I have yet to receive anything from them. They don't call or send me statements anymore-which is nice. I've contacted Americredit numerous times by mail and have yet to get a reply as to why this is still on my credit report and I've notified all 3 credit bureaus. I've actually decided to give up and just report to everyone my experiences and hopefully they won't make the same mistake as I did by receiving financing from this company.
