America's Service Station
Rip off, looked over problems and caused problems, please NEVER take your car to this place

I took my car and my wife's car to america's service station to get work done. First I took my car to get a lot of work done on it. This was July and I have about $2400 worth of work done, one of which was the rear main seal. At the time of getting this work done I asked them to check the clutch to see if it was needed. My car has around 165000 miles on it. They said that the clutch looked fine no need to get it.

6 months and maybe 4000 miles later the seal is leaking again. I take the car back in to get the seal fixed considering they said it was under warranty. I take it too them on a Friday night and they should have gotten it done by Saturday. It is now Tuesday and I still do not have it back.

First they take it apart and get the new seal and realize (after it is all apart) that the new seal is torn and they cannot get a new one until monday.
Next, While the car is apart they call me saying it wouldn't hurt to get a new clutch. I declined. Then I talk to them on Tuesday and they say that the car is still not put back together and that the "clutch guy" is looking at my clutch even though i told them i am not going to get it done.

They tell me that my car probably won't be able to roll out of the bay if i don't get a new clutch, Even though I drove it in there with no problems at all.

So after I have to get a little heated with Ben (the so-called service man i am dealing with) to get him to put my car back together and just do the work i took it in there for, he gets an attitude and tells me he will get on it.

I call back about 5 hours later and the car is still not done and I get a sob story about how they shop is busy and that they will get on it "when they can get to it" and when I asked him if they could get to it before they closed he said " don't know they will get to it if they can"

Now at this point I have been without my car for 4 days and counting! And they still do not seem to be in a hurry for it.

Next I took my wife's 99 ford explorer that only has 60,000 miles in for service between this time with my car. The check engine light was on and it was driving a little sluggish.

After checking the car they gave me a list of things to do to the car and that it would be $1500. Well I got had and put $1000 into the car.

Still to this day I do not think they actually did any of it. We get the car back and from the time we pull out with it if starts doing something new.By the end of the week the check engine light is back on and it will barely drive.

We take it back to them and they do their little test and they say that an "air flow manifold gasket" is completly "disintegrated" and that it would be like $550 or so to fix

Well by this point we had had enough and got a 2nd opinion. We found a real mechanic luckily and he checked it out and said that the "air flow meter" was UNPLUGGED and that was all the problem was. Aparently any reputable mechanic should have noticed this problem.
The thought that they unplugged it is very possible.

Well for $79 the car was back to driving great. Also a belt that was looking pretty sluggish was replaced that would have been a hugh problem if it broke. America's service station never even mentioned this belt at all.
These problems are not limited to me either i know of at least one other person to get the stuff to him at the same time frame so please NEVER take your car to this place.

Thanks for reading. Sorry so long
