Ripoff ripoff exploits uninformed elderly buyers

COURTESY (NOT) Chevrolet of Phoenix does not have any kind of customer service standards and seems to enjoy ripping people off. If you deal with this company, you'd better hire a negotiator.

My parents are elderly and a bit uninformed regarding interest rates and exactly what credit scores should be to get certain rates on a vehicle. They went to a tent sale that Courtesty Chevrolet on Bell Rd. Was at and were given a salesman who "seemed genuine", according to my very kind, elderly and unconfrontational father.

Well, it turned out, my father was given an 18.9% interest rate with the vehicle being overpriced about $$4000. My father happens to have a "B" rating on the credit scale and could have received a 0-7% interest rate at any "REPUTABLE" dealer.

Let me assure you, my father is not ignorant, and is a hard working man, and very informed regarding his work. He was simply duped by a salesman (and finance manager) who are masters at deceiving people that they are genuine and honest.

Anyways, you would think the next day after buying a USED, DEFECTIVE, OVERPRICED vehicle, that someone from customer service would call you back after several calls to them. That simply is not the way it went.

I went over to see my elderly parents new, used vehicle, and my mother could not even get into the drivers side door. The alarms the dealer gave them were both defective, plus the drivers side door did not even open with the inside unlock button.

THE DEALERSHIP LIED, AND SAID THEY WOULD CALL THEM TO GET THAT FIXED THE NEXT DAY. They NEVER called back, after several times calling them. We simply called and told them to put a hold on the deal due to this DEFECT in the vehicle, and the interest rate was just too high. We were faced with the finance manager telling us we needed to call the General Manager of the Bell road dealership, whom told us, "THIS IS NOT CALIFORNIA, WHERE YOU HAVE 3 DAYS TO RETURN SOMETHING DEFRCTIVE, THIS IS ARIZONA, A CONTRACT IS A CONTRACT, AND WE WILL NOT RETURN IT"

He gave us no recourse, of looking at other vehicles, just "you bought it, it's yours". Keep in mind, they made out like BANDITS, WITH ABOUT $4000 IN COMMISSION. We later tried 2 separate times that evening to return the vehicle, and were called "liars" and told we were "playing games", is this any way to talk to customers? I GUESS WHEN THEY SEE THE DOLLAR SIGNS IN FRONT OF THEIR EYES, THEY GET BLINDED THAT THEY ARE DEALING WITH PEOPLE. (possibly their elderly parents) I am still going to pursue this, but it should never taken this drastic of a turn.

I have now gone through one General Manager (of used car sales) John Sanders; Phil, who called me a liar and accused me of playing games; and several managers who keep passing me around. Buyers beware. We need to get legislation passed, so other people do not get taken advantage of like this, and get passed off "after the sale is made", then get told that there is simply "no" recourse. I am also calling the local news channels, so they can do a story on this.
