I posted on the internet that I was looking for a 2002 Chevy Tracker motor with less than 50,000 miles on it. I also posted that I did not want to change anything on the motor, I just wanted to drop it in, plug it in and go. Low Mileage Engines contacted me stating " I have just what you are looking for". Gave me a price of $1650.00.included free shipping.
I called Low Mileage Engines to see what it was about. I agreed to purchase a 2002 motor for the price quoted and gave Daniel Hines my payment info.
The motor arrived about 10 days later. It was a piece of crap! The water pump was busted off, the soft plugs were rotting out, it was rusty, and oil leaks all over the motor. It also arrived with a paper stating it was a 2004 motor with 54,000 miles on it along with a sheet stating a list of all parts that needed to be changed.
I called Daniel Hines immediately and told him my issues. He told me he would have a truck back to my house in 2 days to pick it up.
In 2 days when the truck left with the motor I called Daniel Hines to let him know that the motor was on its way back to him. That is when he informed me that I would get my refund into my account when the motor was back in their possession. Minus shipping for both ways along with a restocking fee. It turns out I lost $628 because they sent me a motor that I did NOT agree to purchase!
I contacted the Nashville Consumer Affairs office. We were back and forth with letters between us and Wade H. Nowlin II. (from Low Mileage Engines), who does not think I was treated unfairly at all and does not think I am entitled to any refund.
I will Never do any more business with Low Mileage Engines, I will advise all my friends not to do business with them, and I hope everyone looking to do business with them reads these rip off stories about them first! And then purchases from someone else.
