Misguided information on Auto Repai

My wife took a used 2005 Chevrolet malibu that we just bought with 24742 miles on it to our local mechanic that we have been doing business with for about the last 5 years. My wife was going on a trip and the vehicle needed to be inspected so we could title the vehicle in our state. So trusting this mechanic/Owner for the last five years we felt we could trust him. Well I was employed at Chevrolet Dealerships for about 30 years until Cancer about took my life in 2007 and left me unable to do the work myself anymore. So the mechanic tells my wife that the tire rod end was bad and that was what was causing this popping noise in the front end. So the mechanic / Owner tells my wife that she needed a tire rod end and a Alignment and the mechanic/Owner said that the outter tire rod end had play in it and for safety reasons he told her she should replace both tire rod ends and alignment that my friend is called up selling in the automobile world. I myself use to write service for a Chevrolet Dealership for about five years and the way you make money is to get the vehicle in the building and look it over and try to find anything that leaks squeaks our pops and then you up sell the customer to make money because mechanics get paid by the job so they want to make as much as they can get out of the customer and put in their pocket. So a bill that should of been about $180-$190 turns into $300.00 or more. Well the reason I started doing business with them in the first place was a friend of mine that was a 20 year Nissan mechanic that I had worked with for a couple of years while I wrote service for him and I got schooled real good inn up selling working for Nissan. So thinking I could trust this Owner/Mechanic because I to was in the business that surley he would not try and take advantage of my wife or daughters which he also did work on in the past years and thought for years to come. Well I called to talk to Darrin the Owner/Mechanic about the work that was done to my wifes vehicle and he got very defense really quick well that did not set to well with me the (CUSTOMER) and him the business owner started using foul language over the phone before I could really get out the reason for the call. He could have known what was coming because I spoke with my friend and told him how unsatisted I was with the way the whole deal worked out. The business owner hung up on me before I could get a word in for the reason of the phone call surley we could have worked this out. So I called right back and asked why he was treating me in this very (ODD) manner and he told me point blank to never step foot on his f*king property again. Now this was not the way I wanted to be treated and spend any where from $100.00 $3000.00 a year to keep my vehicles running good and safely. Well there is 4 Vehicles in my family and he does not have to worry about me ever stepping foot or spending my money for his services anymore. You know word of mouth can help build a business or can help tear it apart I guess you know my feeling`s on that matter. I have always heard keep your emeny close and keep your friends even closer that they will be the first to stick it to you. Thank you for your time in this matter it won`t change anything but it sure feels good to get it off my chest. All I want is for him to call and apologize for his foul language he used with me the customer. You know I once had a CEO of a Chevrolet business tell me (THAT CUSTOMER`S MADE PAYDAYS POSSIBLE) So right he was how right he was. Thank youDon Kelly
