I really wish I had researched before I let Maaco paint my car. At the time Maaco painted my car, it was worth about $1,500.00. Two years later, I would be lucky to get $500.00. The car looks horrible. Regular wax melted all the Maaco paint and left the car white. The hood paint has all oxidized. Long story short, they spray painted my car and did a half-a#s job at that. They over painted, left chips, lumps, etc. The only correction they made was when the paint actually fell off at one point. The new painter said "I want to match it to the other badly painted areas."
How Maaco gets you? For 200 or 300, any judge or court will say you get what you pay for. For me, I was painting the car because I still wanted to ride in style without a car note. I can't continue to drive this car and I definitely do not want to pay over a thousand dollars to pay a car worth only about a $1,000.00.
In the future, before I ever trust a company to do anything that costs over $500.00, I definitely will do a ripoff search.
