We were planning to buy a used car. A search on cars.com brought up the cars on sale from Auto Gallery. Since the prices were competitive and the place not too far from where we stay we decided to checkout the cars.
On entering the office met with a guy slouching on his chair drinking from a styrofoam cup. No greetings were exchanged just a casual what brings you here. No basic courtesy to offer seats. We explain the purpose of the visit and mention about the particular cars which we were interested in. The guy at desk asks whether we are going to buy that car and how do we plan to pay for the purchase? We explain that we are serious about buying a car and won't need financing but we would like to take a test drive first before making a decision if its not too much to ask for.
The Cars look good on pictures on the listings but they are way different when you actually see them. With dings and scuffs and scratches on virtually all the panels and bumpers. Tires on all the cars are practically bald for 2-3 year old cars with 30000 miles which makes you think either the original tires have been swapped out or car has serious alignment issues. The car which we saw first was also missing the keyless entry remote.
On mentioning this we were shown another car which luckily had the keyless remote but was missing the gear shifter knob and floor mats. Cars also had prying marks on the driver door was pried open with screwdriver to get access to the door lock. Because of this door doesn't sit flush with the car body. The cars drove with noticeable jerk during shifting as if the transmission is worn out which is strange again for cars with 30000 miles unless the transmission is rebuilt. On bringing all these to the attention of the salesman was replied back with a take it or leave it attitude. When it came to price negotiations the offered price (which was about 7% less than the advertised price and can't be considered a lowball offer considering how the condition of the car) was not met with counteroffers and the keys were virtually snatched away from us by the rude salesman come car washer who presented himself with an attitude resembling more of a gang member than a professional car salesman. I have purchased three cars earlier including used cars from small dealers and never in my life have experienced such rude behavior from any car salesman.
If you have good credit and don't need financing stay away from this place. The clientele for this store seems to be illegal immigrants or people with sub par credit. And they try to make money by selling cars through shady deals and high finance rates. If you have good credit and pay cash you are not welcome here. Avoid this place at all costs. Undoubtedly the worst experience in life ever and wouldn't recommend this place. If you have the money buy a certified car or else look elsewhere as there are better deals available at other small dealers who are honest and courteous.
