I purchased a 2006 Silverado 1500 and performed regular maintanence on the Vehicle. I have records. "however" the engine started a noise that sounded like a lifter every mechanic gave me a different story about what was wrong with the engine. After getting so many conflicting stories about the noise I purchased another engine. I found out from other silverado owners with the 5.3 Vortex engines that they are having the same problem. There has to be a problem with the production of that engine. I feel that GM should have a recall or reimburst consumers for costly repairs.
