Platinum Auto Sales of Fairfield, NJ deceived the buyer and sold an unsafe car with previous accident history and serious safety issues.
Platinum Auto Sales advertised a 1996 Ford Explorer Limited as in "good condition", "inspected", "smooth transmission".in fact, when the buyer had a mechanic check it out, the Explorer was UNSAFE and had DEFECTS that make it impossible to register, or sell the car. The car has no emergency brake cable, the driver airbag is missing, the horn trigger is missing, the transmission is shuttering and slipping and the power steering is malfunctioning and the steering rack is destroyed. The mechanic estimates that the car was in a serious accident and the repairs would cost more than the car did. And, the dealership did not provide a bill of sale!

Well, when contacted, Platinum Auto Sales in Fairfield, NJ would not refund the buyer's money even though the car is unsafe and won't pass Mass inspection and can not be registered or sold without a bill of sale.
When contacted immediately after the purchase of the car, the Platinum Auto Sales dealership would not consider the return of the car. This, even though the buyer is an 18 year old and used all the money he had when he purchased the car.
So, the jokes about used car dealerships may be true (no offense to those dealerships who are honest!). Buyers of used cars beware! Stay away from Platinum Auto Sales of Fairfield, NJ. The Attorney General of NJ has been contacted and we hope you pass the word so you aren't the next victim of this rip off!
