I was sold a 1999 Fors tauus se on April 16th by Circle M auto Sales. They said the car had been owned by a woman that took very good care of it. And swore it would be dependable. I paid cash for the car. I couldn't drive anywhere except to my home on that Monday. Because I had to wait for my insurance to kick in. I took it the the dealer on Tuesday morning to get the safety inspection so I could get my tags. After getting it tagged I started to drive it about 12 miles and noticed it heating up rapidly. I stopped the car and shut it off. Had to fill radiator with water. I bought a new thermastat and coolant. To put in. When I test drove the car the saleman wouldn't let me stop at a garage to have it checked out. The engine light was flashing he said it was a loose fuel cap. I had it checked at autozone and they said it was the #1 sparkplug not firing. So I bought new plugs. When I went to change the thermastat I found they had already removed the thermastat and filled the radiator with sealer trying to seal the head or head gasket. I put the new thermastat in as well ass neww plugs and coolant. I went to drive it again and it heated up even faster because it had the thermastat in it and it had started having a cloud of steam come out the tailpipe. I took it 1 mile from where I live to get it diagnosed he told me It had to have the engine replaced. That the carlot had tried to cover up that it had a blown head and head gasket. Also getting water in the oil. I contacted the dealer and was cussed out by the saleman and the pwner. They said they knew it was bad and they sold it as is.
They did not say it was a rebuilder or I would not have bought it.
I am on Social Security Disability and can not afford to have it repaired. So I have a nice looking car that I can not drive. They refuse to do anything about it. I even tried to get them to trade me another car they refused to do anything called me a few bad names and told me to get off the car lot. This is the 6th car I have bought there and have never been done like this by them or any other car dealer in my life.
I will never trust another used car dealer as long as I live and will always demand they let me havve it checked by my mechanic before I buy another used car.
