Needed tires for my motorhome. Was quoted $1,774 tax over the phone. Give them my CC number to bring in the tires and show up with the motorhome for the install. The Manager wouldn't honor the quote. Wanted about $350 more. Says it's not worth it for him to do the work at the quoted price. Doesn't make any effort to come to an understanding. Says he doesn't respond to ultimatums when I say he can do the right thing and send me out as a satisfied customer or I'll let corporate know, the internet know and my friends know how bad they are.
I've written corporate, all my friend know, and now I've done the internet thing.
Called Big O Consumer Relations on a Friday and was told somebody would call Monday or Tuesday. Wednesday afternoon rolls around with no call so I call them. Got ahold of Gary who heads Consumer Relations. Doesn't seem too concerned his department doesn't keep their word. Says he'll have the Regional Director get in touch with me to resolve this.
Guess what? Never heard from the Regional Director. Surprised? At this point, I wasn't.
The Big O sales guy did call back, said the $1,774 price was good and I could bring the rig in when the Manager wasn't on duty. Too little, too late.
Took my business to Parkhouse which I should have done in the first place. They specialize in trucks. I'll post the answer I get from Big O corporate, presuming they bother to write back. Not a good place to do business with.
