My problem began when we purchased a new vehicle a month ago to add onto our existing policy. During my conversation with Progressive while at the dealership the representive indicated that we can disregard the payment on the old policy & if you receive a cancellation notice, don't worry because your new policy information will be sent out. (of course they disagreed)
Nonetheless, I thought everything was ok until I start paying my monthly expenses & discover no invoice from Progressive. I became concern because I didn't receive a statement. Of course, how can you be without insurance on your vehicles.
Therefore, I phoned Progressive and to my suprise my policy was cancelled. How about they sent the cancellation notice out the very next day after adding a luxury SUV on an existing policy with a 2003 vehicle. Also, they sent the new policy information. Let's not mention that I had sent them a payment, the month prior for more than the statement amount.
The point of this report is to inform anyone of Progressive's inability to service the consumers & if there is a misunderstanding, they do absolutely nothing to help the customer resolve the issue. As a matter of fact, they hit you with late charges & other fees on top of the premium & then say the onus is on you.
However, I am happy to say, I am no longer with Progressive and I found a carrier who will save me over $2500.00 a year and they duplicated the policy coverages that I had with Progressive. Can you believe the savings! This is a fact!
Progressive probably has some of the highest insurance premiums on market. Why pay for a name, save yourself some money & go somewhere else for your insurance. Unfortunately, you are going to get headaches when dealing with any of these type of companies, sometimes, but why pay more and be aggravated. I think its time people start joining together & lets these large carriers of product & services know that they wouldn't exist if it wasn't for our patronage.
