On Wednesday December 16th I took my fathers Truck (2006 Silverado 1500) to Longhorn Truck Accessories to have a Spring Lift, Ball Joints, Brakes installed with Alignment. The agreed price was 450 to include all of the above said items. It was agreed that I would provide all of the components including items from CST California Super Trucks, Moog Ball Joints and EBC Brakes and Pads. I was then told the job would take about a day or so. I placed a $225 Good Faith deposit on my credit card for the work. However come the next day I go to check on the truck finding that the work on one side had not even been completed.
A few more days go by I return on Friday in which tell me they were having problems removing the ball joint, I saw the "attempts" which in turn had ruined the Right Lower Control Arm by hacking up the Metal and cracking the mounting points for the bolts which secure the replacement ball joint. Their response is "Well we didn't know it would have taken this long, if we would have known we would have told you to just buy a new LCA, Their neglect an inexperience in the matter in turn RUINED the lower control arm at which I had to purchase from Chevrolet Directly at a price of over $250.
It was at this point I noticed the install was being done incorrectly, Part's had been installed without use of other parts needed for that section. It was at this time I realized their incompetence and decided for them to just put on the brake rotors and pads, and just put the truck back to how I had brought it in. They were fine with that and after another day I pick up my fathers truck on Saturday with my Fiance, I was notified ALL parts I had brought in were put in the truck bed. Upon talking with the owner, he turns blaming me for my troubles saying "we're here to make money, and here you are bringing in parts without buying them from me or telling me" He then went on by saying I never talked over all these prices with him. I had in fact discussed both the price of this job and work with both him and his shop technician. I had even offered to explain and show the different parts of the install, an offer of which they denied.in the end I was forced to leave my deposit due to work "attempted". I received my keys and informed them I would be talking to my credit card company.
Upon going home my father and I began to install the lift and components ourselves, in which we noticed the damage to the LCA required replacement, we took the LCA they had "worked on" to a shop, upon which we were told "it looks like a kindergardener with a steel grinder worked on it". We were forced to purchase a new one due to their negligence at a price of over $250 dollar (for which we have proof via invoice). After receiving the new LCA from Chevy we then continued installing the rest of the lift. We then noticed (2) steel crush arm's were lost at their shop. They we're closed due to Christmas Break and were unable to look for the items. I then Had to call California Supertrucks to order replacements at which I was charged 27 unnecessary dollars. My father and I were able to complete the install ourselves after receiving the parts within two days. Two men with little experience we're able to do the job a shop "Specializing" in truck lift installs were not able to.
My work was simply never completed, I am now out over 280 dollars due to their neglect. I will never deal with these people again and will advise other to do the same. Simply put I want my money back, but that's just the start
