I purchased an Jaguar XJR from Texas Cars Direct a few years ago and should have listed this then. I flew to Dallas to pick up this car and found that the exterior was dirty, but it was a rainy day so I though this was exceptable. I noticed that the paint on the front end of the car was in great condition. I assumed that anyone who had no paint chips must have cared for their car very well. I finished my purchase and drove my car back to Houston. When I got home and washed the car I found a few deep rock chips on the hood and above the drivers side headlight as well as a poor dent repair on the side of the car.
Over the next few weeks I noticed more and more rock chips on the front of the car. The dealer here in town said that the front end was quickly and poorly repainted. Not enough coats were applied and most likely had not cured properly before TCD released the car to me.in less than six months the paint on the front end was shot, and today the front of my car looks almost primer gray. It's been a good car, but the shoddy repaint, poor paint repairs miss matched tires etc. Will keep me from purchasing there again. Had they disclosed that the front end and other areas had been repaired and repainted I'd have required the car to be washed, and taken it to the dealer to have it inspected. I'm not happy.
