Total disaster doesn't begin to describe this wreck of a transaction. We bid on this truck on Ebay motors to begin a new food service business. Ben the sales contact described the truck as being 100 percent working. We requested that the truck be serviced with a tune up and oil change and detailed inside and out as it needed to pass inspection in Florida. We we assured the truck was not only being cleaned but that they had removed the seats to clean the cab. Ben went on to say that the trucks food dispensing parts were 100% working including the refrigeration. He assured us that he could have the truck shipped. After 2 weeks of no delivery we decided to fly up and pick the truck up and drive it back to FL.
Ben promised to pick us up at the airport. When we arrived we called and were told that Ben wasn't coming. We were told that he decided in the last minute that he didn't want to drive. Vanessa the office manager called her daughters room mate and had her pick us up. We were left out in the heat at the airport for 2 and a half hours. When we finally arrived at Liberty we were shocked to see the truck with bald tires the truck covered with mud.
You can't imagine what we saw next. We opened the cab doors to find a filthy smoke covered interior that had not only not been cleaned but had had nothing but armor all sprayed on the dash. The carpets were covered in the same type of tan mud as the outside and the windows were so covered in smoke they looked tinted. They also sprayed armor all on the tires apparently in the hopes that it would grow tread.
Upon further inspection we found that not only had they not tuned the truck but the truck had one headlight out, no wiper blades, two dead batteries and wouldn't start, no electrical to the food service box, no refrigeration, wires hanging, missing coffee parts, and ten missing steam table pans. They had Done nothing promised and the truck was far from ready for inspecton. The food area was covered with cobwebs, grease, leaves, and dead bugs.
In a round about way Ben's incompetency was a blessing in disguise. Had the truck been delivered in htis shape it could have been worse. We were booked into a hotel and told that they would take care of everything. The next day they changed the oil, put in plugs, wires, wipers, and used tires (one of which leaks), and signed a paper stating they would pay for additional repairs. We were able to get some parts after much hemming and bickering, but finally the owner Edwin Pax said he was upset that the truck sold for less than he wanted and that he wasn't going to honor his signed agreement and complete the repairs.
Unfortunately, 2 weeks later and with a total lack of communication and an additional 700 in repair parts pending we are filing this report to hopefully keep others from having to deal with these dishonest and shady people. Buyer Beware does not come close to what you should get from this report.
Oh, top this off with a nest in the air cleaner box with bedding and acorns. So when you look to buy a car from these people and they say it was inspected look for the seein eye dog.
Run do not walk away from this company!!!
