I took my vehicle to Cartech Auto a month ago to have a shaking problem fixed. It was my cylinder misfiring. Now a month later the same shaking is starting to appear again. I took it back to Cartech Auto thinking it was related to what I just had fixed. I told the owner I just had it in for a cylinder misfire and wanted to know if the new shaking occuring was related to this last appointment, and to call when he knew. Hours went by so I called him. He said they were just looking at it then. Two hours later he called me and left me a message saying my vehicle was ready for pickup. I called him back to have him explain what it was. He told me it was the spark plugs and that he replaced them with platinum ones and it was $200 dollars. I told him that I thought it impossible it was spark plugs since I had them replaced in December and I barely have put on 10,000 km's since then. Spark plugs usually have a life span of 30,000 km's. After work I went in to pick my car up and complain about not being notified and obtaining my approval for the work that was done, as well as upgrading parts. The owner the proceded to walk away from me while I was in mid-sentence and said he was having the spark plugs taken out. He came back and we both argued back and forth about the right procedure and policy and how you should always notify the customer before completing the work necessary. It was at this time he lied to me saying I said that morning "I was going to be taking a long road trip" and that is why he went ahead with the work. I at NO TIME said anything remotely close to what he claimed! I know this becomes a he said she said, but I know what I said and did not say. All the while the mechanics were taking out the spark plugs and he was walking back and forth between. I then afterward became paranoid that he might have had the mechanics do something to my vehicle because he does not seem trust worthy, and was obviously upset before I even walked in the door, for him to go off on me like that! I will never take my car there again and hope other people hear my story and it keeps him from getting business. Already two people I know have confirmed the horrible service they have had there and that the owner even hung up on one of them. This is so unacceptable and I can't believe this man is operating a business such as this.
