I purchased a Chevy Aveo LS on Thursday evening. I noticed it did not have ABS, the salesman, JD, said that was an error and the vehicle in fact does have ABS. I added the A/C package to the sale and went to the finance area.
Geoff in the finance area told me that I needed to purchase the 7 year 100,000 mile warranty. I told him that I did not want the warranty or the Gap coverage. He insisted that I get it. After several minutes I finally told him I don't want the additional coverage. I signed the paperwork, but then noticed he had added the coverage anyway. I called back the following day to tell him again that I do not want the coverage (it adds 12 additional months to the loan and ends up costing me several thousand dollars). He told me that I had signed a legal document and it was too late, even though a bank or credit union had yet to take the loan.
I called back again today (Saturday), after I discovered the car does not have ABS. Again Geoff told me that I signed the paperwork and there was nothing he could do. I have yet to take posession of the car, it is still sitting at Young Chevrolet waiting for the A/C to be installed. They are not willing to work with me on the deceptive nature of their sales and finance. I will be forced on Monday to go and pick up this car, the first and last I will ever purchase at Young Chevrolet in Layton, Utah.
