I purchased a Lavie Scooter from Sargents Motorsports located on 102nd and Foster Road Portland Oregon last year. The scooter ran beautiful I couldnt have asked for anything better. Of course it was brand new maybe 1 mile on it. The Lavie Scooter is a very powerful scooter. TO me very powerful. It was awesome notice I said was. I always said ZI wouldnt win at the finish line but I would bet my scooter that I could beat any and I mean any car at takeoff. It was just awesome. Again was. I followed the manual to the exact point on everything it said. Maintenance time came up and I changedmy own oil and brake fluid. I couldnt see the picture very well on the gear fluid it was a bad picture so I decided to call Sargents since that it where I purchased the scooter. I spoke with Gary Jr. And asked him if he worked on scooters that were purchased there. He said yes. Then we got into the conversation of me having it on Craigslist cause im having a hard time learning how to turn and it is a very powerful scooter and I was selling it for 2400.00 but I lowered the price to 1900.00 and he said dont go any lower. Then I asked if it was alright if I hung around to wait for the scooter and he said they were very busy and not a good idea. I understood and said okay. The next day I bring the scooter in and assk for Gary Jr. And he comes out and I tell him all I want done is the gear oil changed cause I cant understand in the picture where it is at hoping he would say its iover here for the next time. Yeah right didnt happen thats alright So gear oil and a screw for the brake fluid cap cause when changing it it was on so tight whoever put it on When I did finally get it off it broke. I told him do not change the oil cause I di or the brake fluid cause I did. He said okay and said he would call when it was done. I left and later that afternoon he called and said it was ready. Awesome I thought. I get there and he comes out and says he changed the oil cause it was cheap oil and the spark plug. I dont say anything cause I just didnt want to get into it with him. As it states on the receipt I said no oil change. He shouldnt have changed that oil unless he got the okay from me. I thought to myself when he said cheap oil how dare he he doesnt know what kind of oil I put in there and I always get the best especially since the bike is brand new Im not going to let anything happen to it. How dare he say cheap and also he said to thin of oil. I put in what the manual said and cheap it doesnt come cheap The oil I put in wass 9.99 a quart and it was valvoline. So he gives me the bill and it says 125.50 rounded out. I pay and leave thinking to myself what an egotistical snobby brat. He sure didnt act like that when the bike was purchased. I could have bent over and he would have actually kissed my ass when the bike was sold to us. Now doing masintenance after the sale a year later when bending over he kicked and kicked all the way up my ass. I didnt even have to bend over for that kick. I get on my bike and the road I took the speed limit was 35 mph I had to take that road to get to the road that took me directly home. That road was 45 mph. Well let me tell ytou. Thats when it all happened. Doing 35 I thought opkay so far. Then I reved the gas to go to the speed limit of 45 and when I got to almost 45mph it died. I pulled over and thought wow whats that about. I started the engine and it took a couple of times to start. What the heck is that about. My bike rode beautifully when I brought it in Its a brand new bike only 540 miles on it. So it starts I get on the road again and the same thing happens. Start it and slow down to 35 all the way home. I tell my roommate and he sdays call them back It was to late they were closed. I get up and think im going to take it to work and maybe I was just imaging it cause the bike is brand new and thats how it ran when I brought it in. I know that sounds crazy but its the truth. Well I take that same road to work and it did it again When I got home i called and asked for Gary Jr. And he got on the phone and I asked if he remembered me and he said yes and I explained what happened and I couldnt believe what he said. He started off saying that it wasnt his fault. I tried so hard at being polite so in anice way I explained to him again what it did and it has never done that before and the bike is brand new and never any problems its a beautiful bike. Again he said not his problem he did nothing. I said I see you changed the spark plug and that might be the problem. He said could be but he doubts it but he also may have gapped it wrong and to change the spark plug myself and after thats done if there is still a problem call him back and he will try to get to it I thought you sob I just payed you 125.00 and you are telling me to change my own spark plug that you may have screwed up. I told him my bike was running beautfully and it was his problem and what he was going to do about it. My roommate saw my patience was runniong very very very thin so he took the phone and he told my roommate to tell me to calm dow it was just a machine and they break down. Not no 2600.00 machine and neded I remind you I purchased it from Sargents Motorsports There was no reasoning with this person believe me there was none and if I brought it back i was afraid he was gonna charge me and i would have totally refused to pay and he would have kept my bike. I wasnt going to chance that. I brought it in to somone else and they change the spark plug cause it was gapped wrong. I have all receipts to prove it. It was still doing it after the spark plug was changed. Now I have been without transportation my bike is still in the shop and I cant get my bike to go faster than 45 without it dying and that all it goes up to at full throttle putting its way up there. I use to barely touch the throttle and it would go to 40. Im telling you the bike had power. I had it up to 70 once and never againb cause it scared me. Anyway to make a long story even longer Im going to end with I called the bank and got my 125.00 back and I havent heard from Sargents Motorsports about that and I filed a small claims suit against Sargents Motorsports on Monday July 19th and am waiting to hear from the sheriffs office stating they haver served them and waiting to hear there response. I know down in my heart I am right and I refuse to be treated like that. My bike will eventually be in the same running condition it was in when I brought it in to Sargents Motorsports And they will make it right and compensate me for what I have gone threw. If there is any justice they will. And the only way to have that is to say see you in court.
