So this is the first ever buy here pay here lot I've ever went to, and it had me walking away before signing the 'contract.'
First:
The salesman Dave during his 'pitch' that he called a 'program' stated "these are dinged up cars, they will break down. BUT we have a 24 month 24k mile warranty... Blah blah blah."
I just smile and nod because my credit isn't bad or good it's what people consider "ghost" I just don't have it established. But anyways... He says the only car I'm able to get is a 2000 Elantra with 97k miles at a price of $9,980. Now this is a super standard issue car... And yes I know you expect to pay a mark up at the typical buy here pay here lots but at this one you don't even get to pick out the car you would like.
I felt really un-easy over the fact that I had asked if I could have a day or two to think about it. (When you spend that much money I like to think about it before committing to a 400 dollar a month payment for a crappy car.) He immediately went on the defensive and said "Well, we can't do that and we had to beg the finance woman to approve this." I said "Well then if you had to beg her to do it, I obviously don't need the car so my business is done here." And luckily walked out before I signed a dang thing.
I advise people to be very careful with this place. It's only good for a last resort and read every single thing you sign. Their payment system and 'budget' is majorly flawed for failure.
