Auto Shopper has a long list of techniques it uses to rip people off.
Come in and drive any car off for $29.000 is what they advertise.
They don't care how much you make or where you claim you make your money. You can be getting unemployment and they will consider that. Food stamps? Add that in they say.
They will ask you about income you have that is not traceableTips you don't declare or cash you earn doing house cleaning. It will all be considered.
Then when, surprise, surprise, you don't qualify for a loan, they ask you to go get a co-signer.
Then the lies really start: The co-signer states they make $800.00 per month, and they say, No, you just say you make $2,800.00 per month.
That's how you can help as the co-signer. Auto Shopper will convince them they can qualify the friend they are co-signing for to drive off in the car if they go along with it.
They even have a guy named Iman who will take a pay stub and scan it and then redo a forgery with larger income filled in the boxes for monthly and annual.
It's a racket over there.
As you can imagine, a lot of their cars are repossessed. If it happened to you, then get a lawyer. You got ripped off. They even take blank applications so they can play with the numbers to qualify people for loans that they cannot really afford.
Even if you don't buy, once you have been to the Auto Shopper web-site you get lots of e-mails saying stuff like We Are Shipping Your Dell Laptop in Fedex Today, New Dell XPS by Fedex Today, A Free Phone Just for You, You've Received Dell-XPS (Fully-Paid by Sponsor), Claim Your $1,000 Walmart Gift Card, or You've Walmart Coupon Codes. All these ads are as misleading and rip-off as the fake gas voucher offer they made. You have to jump through so many hoops and then find out you just are entered in some contest to possibly win the gift card, computer or coupon or whatever.
As mentioned in Car Deal From Hell, the warranties sold by Auto Shopper are another big rip. They sell the most expensive warranties and they really cover very little. Sometimes they don't even tell customers they are lowering the price but adding in a warranty. This is illegal.
