The skid plate on my 1999 VW Beetle was damaged and needed to be re-attached. I left my vehicle with him for a week to have some routine maintenence completed and had asked him to re-attach the skid plate. When I picked up my vehicle the skid plate was not re-attached.in fact the skid plate was gone and Rudy had forgotten about re-attaching the plate all together. After questioning Rudy about the missing skid plate he said give him a few days to look around the shop and see if he could find it. He never found the skid plate and he agreed to find one and attach it for me. After picking up the car for the second time I realized that the skid plate he put on was for a different model and did not come close to covering important belts and other parts of the engine. After explaining to Rudy that I was not satisfied with his replacement he offered to let me to purchase the correct part and he would attach it for me at no cost. He wanted for me to buy the part that he lost in the first place. He failed to understand why he should have to replace the part and all he offered was for me to come out of pocket and buy the correct skid plate and he would put it on for me.
Over the past 6 months I have paid Newspeed Automotive around $2000 for various repairs and I will not take any vehicle there again.
