Lies lies and more lies, not to mention harrassment

My Husband and I wanted to finance a 04 Jeep Cherokee. My husbands credit is not bad he just doesn't have any (we are young). Credit acceptance was the only company that would finance us. Before doing so they had to install a GPS interrupter.

We payed $6,300 down on a car that was $13,000, so our payments would be cheap and build our credit. We signed papers March 20th. Our first payment was due April 19th.

April 18th my husband set up to do withdraws from our checking account for payments. Which go through WesterUnion Speed pay. Our payment was taken out of our checking account the 19th of April. April 20ish we get a phone call stating that our payment was not made. Thinking there was something wrong I just went to and did a money gram.

May 17th we once again try making a payment with Credit Acceptance on their Web site. We get a confirmation e-mail and the money was taken from our account on the 20th. This is great. Yesterday, June 1st we receive a phone call stating the payment was not made and that our car was being turned off. My husband then call our bank to find out what is going on. They show a payment was taken out by Western Union Speed pay May 20th and at the close of business we had a good balance left.

We then call Credit Acceptance to let them know the money was taken out and that it is on their end. The say no, the money was attempted to be taken out but was denied due to NSF. Our bank is saying other wise. They then ask for proof. So once again we call our bank and they say they can't fax or e-mail our statements because my husband is in the Military and this is Military bank. They stated they would however mail us a statement first class to help resolve the issue. We call Credit Acceptance to inform them of this, they say that they need something now they aren't going to wait.

When my husband tried to ask questions on why they didn't take a payment when the funds were there, they changed their story and said they did take the funds but the funds were returned. Why? They won't say. So we go to the Dealer ship and we are about ready to do what ever it takes for someone to get the Jeep because it is more a headache then it is worth. The dealership finance manager is doing what ever he can to help. Says he is going to call Credit Acceptance himself in the morning.

Today June 2. We wake up to a phone call at 7:00 am. Its Credit Acceptance. They want their money now, when explained to once again that we are waiting on a bank statement to send them, the man gets very hatefull. Tells my husband that it isn't good enough that my Jeep will be repossessed tomorrow morning at 8 am. No questions asked. We get up get dressed go to the dealership to tell him to take the Jeep and put it where the sun don't shine. He gets on the phone with an Audrey I do believe was her name. He tries everything he can to help. He poses the question of why we were not contacted sooner so we could have more than 1 day to figure something out. She tells him that she has called us on several occasions and hasn't been able to reach us. Which is BS. We leave fighting mad.

Got home and started to clean out the Jeep and get my tag and Army Base stickers off. My husband and I think about it and decide losing $6,300.00 is not an option. We have to call a friend and borrow the money which is painful enough. When I call to get instructions on how to do the money gram again the lady tells me our payment is late, I inform her that I know but a payment has been lost so we are going to wire MORE money through Money Gram. She informs me that is not her problem. And hangs up. We make ANOTHER payment.

I call a few hours later to make sure the payment was made. I ask if my car was turned on yet also. The NICE man on the phone tells me the payment is not there, but the car isn't shut off and won't be until the 4th of June.

Something is very wrong with this company. Not only do they lie but they are very rude. For some reason payments aren't being received although they have taken the money out of our checking account. My opinion is if you are going to buy a car and you have to go through this company you are better of walking.

So Basically, we have had the car for 2 payment periods and have made 4 payments. Something is seriously wrong there. Any help would be great.
