Oxmoor Toyota
If Oxmoor gives you a price over the phone, don't believe it!

I am not in to slamming car sales people as I know that they do not make decisions and often times are lied to from their own "bosses"...

I got a price from Toyota of Louisville on a new Camry. They told me that it was their best price and pressured me to sign the offer. I reluctanly did so and had to wait a while before seeing the head finance manager. I had an uneasy feeling as I was about to spend a lot of money.

While waiting, I called the car salesman at Oxmoor. He said, and I do not hold him accountable for the results, that they had a special of $17,995 on new 2009 LE's and that he would have it cleaned up for me if I came down right now. The price I was paying at Toyota of Louisville was much higher. The salesman also stated that I would get a free stainless steel grille.

It was a no brainer for me. I left the dealer I was at and old them that I would be there in 15 minutes and that I was tired of shopping so please have as much done as possible. The salesman at Louisville Toyota became insulted and asked me if I was a man based on my initials on their worksheet.

I told him that he already stated that the $19400 figure was their best deal. He became hostile with me (but that's a different story). He made me call the other salesman in front of him and the Oxmoor guy said yes "All of our LE Camrys are 17,995). I left and drove to Oxmoor.

The Louisville salesman said "You'll see, they (Oxmoor) are a bunch of scam artists, they have 20 million dollar building to pay for and can't do what they said, come back here when you get the truth". He was very upset. I pulled up on the lot at Oxmoor and the salesman met me. I asked to see the Camry and asked how many miles were on it - he said 47 miles.

I started their paperwork and in the back of my mind I knew I shouldn't have. We spent 15 minutes with my drivers license being copied (again) and numerous personal information being given. I gave a false name because I think that these guys would actually come to my house! The salesman left and came back with a piece of paper that said my price was 17,995 plus the wheels of $700 (something), the floor mats which were almost $200 and a $300 spoiler. I couldn't believe it.

I was really upset as this wasn't why I left the Louisville Toyota dealer. A manager came out and said that I, I, had selected a vehicle with these options and did I really think that they would be free. My wife was with me and became more upset than I was. He discounted some of the items and got me to agree as I couldn't go back to the other dealer at this point (I hate car dealers and the smiles and the pressure they make you feel).

I eventually agreed and filled out the rest of the paperwork. When I met with the person... The salesman told me that they have a $99 fee which is the lowest I have found. The final paperwork had a $500 or $600 mandatory fee called customer appreciation. Again I was dumbfounded. I walked out and now don't know where to buy the Camry that I want.

To my knowledge their are only two Toyota dealers in Louisville. I guess I'll have to buy something else or drive across the river to the dealer in Indiana. I was ran around, had my time wasted, and in the end I was attempted to be ripped off from Oxmoor. Stay clear of them if anyone even reads this.
