Rented car 4/14/09 after an accident. Pt cruiser that was due to have oil change, filthy, smelling of cigarettes although they are paid a $75 fee to deep clean the cigarette smoke. On 4/24/09 a slight bumping turned into a tire emergency light and a snatching or surge. Reminded me of both when my truck transmission tore up and refused to back up and also when my car had a bearing and axle problem. At any rate the car is a danger to drive. It may leave me stranded on the side of the road or it may have problems that will cause an accident. At any rate, when I notified Enterprise where I rented it, the only available person suggested I drive it the approximate 40 miles through rush hour traffic to him (he was closing in 1hr and 45 minutes). Even after I explained in simple language my fear of the dangers with this car he refused to come get it or make arrangements. He told me to look on the back of my paperwork and find the 800 # for after hour wrecker service if I had problems after hours. My husband called him and he said the same thing. I called the national customer service rep who gave me the address of the regional office in Shreveport. I called the mgmt assistant on 4/25/09 at 11am. The customer service person had faxed them a report on my complaint the night before. All this lady was interested in was "an additional deposit" She too left me hanging without a car... I told her I would be in Monroe on Monday working for about 2 hours next to the mall. She agreed to send someone to look at the car. I was not happy with that response and pinned her down by asking if they would be bringing me a replacement car as I did not want to get stranded at a client's office. She said they had to. But, they were busy on mondays so it may be after 10am. They have not offered to make this any less traumatic on me that is necessary. As a matter of fact, they have made it clear that they will throw as many obstacles in the way as possible. Their customer service is the worst i have ever seen. I have rented from them on at least 2 other occasions and it was fine. I guess it is easy for them to do their jobs as long as there are no car problems. There was an unsatisfied customer in the lobby the day I rented the car. I guess I should have paid closer attention.
