I am a former employee of this dealership. There were many unethical things that went on behind closed doors. After working in sales in this dealership, I can see why car dealers have such a bad reputation. I will never work in the car business again after working for Carl Black.
I was asked to lie to customers on a daily basis, and heard the sales manager lie to customers just as often. The most troubling incident I ever experienced was an event that led me to quit this job. I sold a customer a brand new $60,000 Denali, and the customer paid us $4000 for some aftermarket wheels to be installed on the Denali.
Well, it just so happened that we had recently taken a vehicle in on trade that had those identical wheels on it. So the sales manager took both vehicles into the service department, swapped the wheels, cleaned up the old, used wheels, and presented them to the customer as if they were new. The dealer made $4000 on these wheels that cost them NOTHING.
This is something I felt should be shared with the public. I had always heard that Carl Black was one of the better dealers around town. However, this is NOT true at all. I have warned my friends and family to visit another GM dealer before stepping foot on any of the Carl Black dealership lots.
Do not do business with Carl Black - if they can screw you over, they will.
