River City Kustoms Paint & Body
I wanted to paint my truck, and My mechanic recommended these people. This by far is the worst advice I have ever gotten

I had told My mechanic that I wanted to paint My truck. He said that he knew 2 guy that would do the job for me. The first was too expensive, so I told him to get me a second quote. The second quote was more to my liking, and we proceeded to have the body man pick-up the truck.
I then went to go see Steve at "River City Kustoms". I explained what it was that I wanted and he assured me that he would be able to do this job with no trouble at all.

The first reciept, written on a "210 Customs paint & body" reciept states the things he was top do: redo frame; here he was to remove the cab, bed, and all the other components from the frame and sand, treat and paint the frame, this job is not complete, he still has a lot of parts missins from the frame, thus making the truck dangerious to drive.

Tail relocator; here he was to remove the tailgate handle and relocate it to the inside of the tailgate and cover the hole left from the handles outside location. He has not finished this task either. Right fender; here he was to remove and replace the right front fender. He got another fender from the junk yard and did replace it, but not yet complete.

Header Panel; here he was to plug up some holes left when I removed the heater from the truck. He did, but instead of welding the new sheet metal, he just bondoed it, you can see the drips of the bondo from the inside. Paint inside Cab; here he was to paint inside the cab; he did but it was not clear coated and several drips can be seen.

Steel Role Pan; here he was to remove the rear bumper and replace it with a row pan, bumper was removed, but no row pan was ever installed. Yet he claims that he has it, I have yet to see it. It would be best to have it installed when the mechanic installed the tail pipes, to proper seperation of the tail pipes and the row pan (which is made of fiberglass), being too close would melt the fiberglass.

Shave Fenders; here he was to remove all trim, marker lights, post holes on bed of truck, and plug the holes on the hood left from the "FORD" emblem that had been removed. He was to plug up these holes with welding a piece of sheet metal. He did, but this is a very sloppy job, when completed it.

Door Poppers; here he was to install some door poppers, they pop the doors open when the button is pressed to open the doors. Their are no door handles, the doors come open with a remote on key chain. The poppers assist the doors in opening. Not yet installed, but he claims he has them, but again I have yet to see them.

Total for these tasks is &4240.00I left a $2000.00 deposit and had a ballance of $2240.00As I identify these items I am writing them as he did so some are missed spelled others, as you will see below are illegible, so I am guessing.

The second reciept is on a "River City Customs" reciept. Here it what was written; Drop Kit; here he was to remove the front springs and reinstall shorter springs, he stated that he would not cut the springs, because it would ruin the ride (the truck would bounce and give a bad ride). He cut the springs and no spring retention clip re-installed. He was also to lower the rear by putting shackles to lower the truck. Here again, he stated that he would not remove a leaf from the leaf springs (for the same reason stated for the foward springs). All he did was, remove leaf from the springs, and the truck is not as low as he said it would be.

Rim — ? Here is where I don't understand what was written. I asume it says addaters, here the rims I am putting on the truck, come from a Cadillac
and the bolt pattern does not match, the reason I did this was because their are addapters that can be installed for the FORD to Caddie cahnge over. He stated that he has these addapters (4 each), but I have yet to see them, even after several attempts to get them from steve.

Redo Rims, here he was to have the rims re-chromed, and the spokes tightened, when I confronted steve about this he stated that, that was not his fault, he went on to say that all the re-chromer did was polish the rims. I was charged for re-chroming. The total for this is $930.00, I gave him a $2000.00 deposit and was left with a balance of $1070.00.

The third and final reciept wa for $1070.00 which I paid because steve stated that the truck would be ready the next day. He was to take the truck to the mechanivc and have him complete the installation, of the engine (the mechanic stated he would have the truck ready in 1 1/2 to 2 day).

Once the trucked arrived at the mechanic shop, it sat outside and I saw a lot of imperfections to the body work and to the paint. I stated to steve that the truck had the worst body and paint job, I have ever seen. He then Told me to mark all the things I saw wrong and that he would go and check it out later. I did so, and not s ningle square in on the truck was done right. There were spots that were missing the clear coat, others where the bondo had not been sanded down properly and several fish eyes, (a paint and body term, used for I would assume are bubbles that burst and leave a mark, or thats what they look like, to me).

Steve never went to go see the marks that I had done to the truck. He stated that everything that I marked, he would fix. I told him that as I saw it he would have to re-do the entire truck. He agreed to re-do the paint and body work and do it himself, so the job would get done right this time. He told me that it would take him about 2 weeks to complete the truck.

The last reciept that I was given by steve is marked "0" ballance. And dated 02/06. As of today, 03/15, I still don't have the truck and no dated of completion, other than "It will be done tomorrow", Yet, Tomorrow never comes!
