Hyundai of Athens Ga will lie and cheat you. The "finance man" sat me down and said he had "9 questions to ask me that he was required by Georgia law" to ask me.
I answered no to all and when he got to the "question" about gap insurance and I answered no he got irritated and asked me "would you like to tell me why not". He did the same thing when the extended warranty question was asked. He pulled out a blank piece of paper and scribbled out a couple of figures which showed that the monthly payments would be lower if I chose the gap insurance and extended service contract.
I was a fool for signing these papers but he lied to me. The monthly payments would not have been higher had I not chosen the added agreements. I paid $699.00 for gap insurance, $1850.00 for extended service contract, and $299.00 for some rediculous added security contract. When I read the agreements later I realized they were not worth the paper they were written on.
There are some good automobile dealers in Georgia. I purchased another Hyundai from in Atlanta back in 2002. He used no high pressure sales tactics and did not sell me something I did not want. I enjoyed the new car. This one is ruined for me.
Stay away from Hyundai of Athens. Purchasing there will leave a bad taste in your mouth!
