Do NOT make the same mistake I did... Do NOT trust this dealership.
After receiving a Clean Air Texas voucher for $3000, I was happy to find the perfect used economical car as new basic transportation at this dealership. I contacted them via the internet sales, filled out the appropriate paperwork and gave them every bit of information they asked for. I test drove the vehicle and signed all the paperwork after they assured me the financing was totally and completley approved. They accepted my $3000 voucher as a down payment and delivered the vehicle 5 days later. Weeks later they began back peddling and asked me for more information "for the file" which I provided. Unfortunatley they did not pass on the information to the lender. More time went by. Finally a month after the sale and after my voucher had expired and was no longer valid, they asked me to come in and talk about the situation.
When I arrived at the dealership they sat me down in the middle of the showroom and proceeded to discuss my personal finances in public, embarrass me and then informed me they would be keeping the car and I was just out!!! Too Bad! Not our Problem!!! They had not received financing from the listed, confirmed lender. And couldn't find any. They had run so many credit inquiries that lenders were turning down requests based on the volumes of credit inquiries. They had no excuse or explanations for what had happened. They had little of no understanding of how the voucher works and the rules that apply. Worst of all they had no desire to remedy the situation in any way.
When I attempted to leave, they sent out a salesman to stand in back of the car and physicaly hold me from leaving. They shouted and tried to use force!
The next day I contacted an attorney who reveiwed the paperwork and listed off the numerous trade violations they had comitted. Paperwork was started... At a high additional $ to me.
To make matters worse, in the days that follwed they proceeded to send unidentified people to my place of employment in an effort to force me to give them the car that I had a signed bill of sale for. When that threat did not work, they sent a tow truck who stole the vehicle from the parking lot in the middle of the day and left me mortified and stranded with no transportation.
At this point I am working through the legal process to get some type of satisfaction. I am out a car, out a $3000 voucher, have ruined credit for at least 2 years, and am incurring legal fees.
They accept no responsibility and maintain it is "just my problem".
DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. I can only imagine what else they may have done to other people. Be warned!!!
