A guy on craigslist is trying to fraud people by trying to sell you something long distance and saying he will cover the cost of shipment of item and says to pay ebay thru their buyers protection program by sending money by moneygram and they will hold it until you receive the item and than you have 3 days to have the item to check out before you tell ebay to release the funds to him. And you get a confirmation email from "ebay" and it looks very authentic but which its not. What your actually doing is sending out a moneygram straight to him. And to top it off your paying moneygram fees to send your hard earned money to this fraud. Im not proud to say but he almost scammed me for $2500 for a green sandrail dune buggy that he says is in montana where he stationed and is going thru training and being sent to iraq february 28th trying to get me to hurry up and do the deed his name he says is michael bush, or michael linne was the name attached to the address the moneygram was to be sent. And i even went as far as sending the moneygram this morning and than found a site with all these frauds going on and luckily i made the call to moneygram in time to cancel the transaction, but i was notified by them that if he would have withdrawn the money that there was nothing i could of done about it. It would have been a successful scam. Perfect example of listed to your gut feeling and if it sounds too good to be true than it most likely is. Ive read some scam stories on this site and they are identical to what almost happened to me today.
