Aastro Transmissions And Auto Repair Aastro - Smooth talking criminals ripped me off! More like ASStro!

Here is my story: I have a 2001 Yukon Denali - all wheel drive. I took it to Aastro because I had a squeeling coming from the engine and a check engine light on. I am a do-it-yourselfer but I was really busy and figured it was just the belt. They said it needed a new idler pulley and the mass air flow sensor was dirty. I mentioned (big mistake in retrospect) that the fluid in the front differential had never been checked and occasionally I can hear a slight hum from the front end when going down the freeway with the radio off. Should have just given them a blank check right then. Of course, George (the nicest guy you'll ever meet) said that the front diff needed to be rebuilt before it blows up. Fighting back my uneasy feelings about the whole thing, since the car was fine at this point, I kept having visions of my wife driving down the highway and the front end exploding. I went ahead and agreed for my family's safety. George is the best salesman ever! He could sell an ice cube to an eskimo. It took 10 days to get my car back, and almost instantly the check engine light came back on.

Soon after, the squeeling came back. Then the A/C compressor went out. Which was the problem all along. I didn't take it back because I knew they would blame the light on a new problem and find an excuse about the pulley. I just wanted to be done with them at that point. Luckily, before the warranty was expired on the front diff, it began leaking. I returned it and they "repaired" it again. I got it back a week later. 8,000 miles later... It starts leaking again and making a whining noise!

Yesterday, I called George and being the nice guy he was, he assured me that they would take care of it and get it in right away. We took it for a test drive he keeps explaining they will do whatever it takes to make it right. I tell him that I can't be without a car (again-3rd time) for a week and he says and I quote "tell you what, I'll call Enterprise and get you a car", I'm thinking great! They do owe me for all this hassle. We get back to his office and he calls Enterprise to arrange my car rental, then he turns to me and says "you can put this on your credit card, so you won't be out the cash".

Now I'm confused, then it hits me, then I'm embarrassed. His mis-lead me to believe that they were going to pay for it. Then I realize what else has he mis-lead me on? George has an amazing ability to have you think one way and then spin you the other way, while doing it politely and smiling. To make a long story, longer... George and Mike (Mike is the general manager - much like George, kill you with kindness) basically refused to repair my car. Saying at first that the parts were no longer under warranty, in which I offered to pay for the parts if they honor the labor. Nope. They keep saying it's out of warranty -from the original rebuild. Which I understand, except that the car has been back for leaking from their repairs. Same leak, same place. I just wanted what I paid for. Their best offer: I pay for them to "take a look at it" and then we'll go from there. I have to keep asking them what the bottom line was, since they talked in circles. Answer: I pay to have it rebuilt again.

I just wanted things done right, I didn't expect anything more. Bottom line: I took my car in for a squeel and check engine light. I got an un-needed pulley, my A/C blown up, check engine light still on, and a junked Denali. I paid for the "peace of mind" and Aastro just sold me a living hell. If your reading this... DO NOT use Aastro. And ASStro - if your reading this... You should have done what was right, now I will do whatever it takes to destroy you. O.K. Maybe not destroy, but certainly annoy you. I will be posting, filing complaints, and filing a law suit. I told you I wouldn't just go away. Everybody pass the word in Tucson... Do not use aastro!!!
