I took my car in for tranmission repairs and they damaged my engine

On November 24, I took my 2003 Ford Explorer into Aamco Transmissions because it was running funny. They completed a diagnostic test and advised me that they needed to rebuild my transmission. I got my transmission fixed by this same company two years ago. So they fixed the transmission, but I did not have the money to pick the car up until January. I made a down payment of $500.00 USD to get the car and made payment arrangements to pay back the $800.00 USD on a monthly basis of $140.00 USD a month.

That Friday when I picked the car up the car was running funny, but I was thinking it was because my car was sitting for a month. The car would cut off when I would need to stop, so I had to put the car in neutral every time. Plus, the truck is making a loud ticking noise. I NEVER had this problem until I got my transmission fixed. Since Aamco Transmission is closed Saturday and Sunday, I took my car back in that Monday. Then they said that they found problems in the engine.

My issue with this situation is that this was not seen before they fixed my transmission. They said that they did not see it and it was new, but I only drove my car home. So I feel since it was not seen before they fixed the transmission the problem must of happened when they put the transmission back in. They stated that when they did the diagnostic test there was certain codes to show that it was the transmission, but when the transmission was completed and I brought it back to them on Monday they did another test where other codes shown that was not there prior. They also stated that they did not complete a diagnostic test after the transmission was repaired.

Now I am out of a car and I have no money and am having problems getting back and forth to work, picking up my daughter from school and wife from work. I feel like I did everything I was suppose to in the proper way. Now I do not know what to do and where to go from here.

I feel like this company is reliable for this situation as I was told on Saturday, February 1, that in order for my transmission to be fixed they had to go through the engine first.
