I checked out the Pep Boys web site and saw that they had tires for $80/set, in and out in 59 min. Or less. I get there and they hit me up for $10 a tire to mount and balance, plus $2 for the stems. Thats $48 in fees for $80 tires. Now where on their web or the store was there mentioned hidden fees. Also the salesman POWERS told me that the $40 was for road hazard warranty, 5000-mile rotation and other perks that come with the purchase of the tire.
I got the tires put on, and the 59 min and out deal was a scam. I sat there for 3 hours, when my car was finished I went home and went back the next day, to let cooler heads prevail. Upon arrival I was told that the $10 per tire was standard, and the the stuff POWERS told me I was paying for I was not, no RH warranty etc..
I was then told by the Store Mgr William S Simon, that the reason it took so long was that they were short on help. SO! Also the 59 min or less only starts when the car is pulled into the bay. I have no idea when my car was pulled into the bay, all my receipt says is that I arrived at 950 and was completed at 1251.
I have scoured their web page looking for a disclaimer and have yet to find one that apply to my situation. Im from a small town in the coalfields of Va. When you go by a tire they may charge you $27 dollars for the same tire, but they are not screwing you with all these hidden fees.
This money grubbing corporate shit is the reason I dropped out of the world for 15 years after ten years in it. It is worse now and I have only been back in it three years, I may not last much longer if corporate asshole like Pep Boys keep f*ing me with HIDDEN FEES, LYING ADVERTISMENTS and ASSHOLE CROOKS FOR MANAGERS AND CORPORATE HEADS.
