When our 2002 Ford Focus started making a loud noise, we pulled off the road immediately. We never started it after that. We had it towed home and then to Larry Miller. The business parking lot where we stopped the car (we had to leave it overnight) said they watch their parking lot carefully because it is rented. They said our car left no oil in their lot. The tow truck driver said it left no oil on his truck bed. Larry Miller says it was leaking oil like a sieve when it arrived there. They claim we had knocked a hole in the side of the engine and want to sell us a new one for $4,000 to $12,000. Two knowledgeable people looked at our car before we had it taken to Larry Miller and both said there was no hole in the side of that engine and that the only way it could have gotten there was for someone to start the car and rev up the engine. We admit there was a loose peice but we stopped it before it did any damage. It should not have been a difficult repair. We have pictures and written testimonies from these two people and the tow truck driver. Larry Miller states they never started the car and pushed it out of their shop. Fresh snow showed the car's tire tracks and a stream of oil from their shop out to the back fence and one set of footprints leading away from the car. There were no other tracks.By chance the tow truck driver sent when we called to have the car brought home was the same person who had taken the car to Larry Miller. He remembered it and confirmed that this time as soon as he tipped the car to load it, it leaked a lot of oil. We reported Larry Miller to the Better Business Bureau but they simply repeated the same lie when asked. We need a new or well rebuilt engine put in our car. We also need to have the car inspected by someone else to see if the stunt they pulled damaged anything else. If anything else is found, we would need that taken care of as well.
