Rhino Engines And Transmissions
Sent a mismanufactured engine, replaced it and agreed to pay me back part of the extra $2200 I was out. No money received since August

I purchased a 454 engine for a frame off restoration project from Rhino Engines. I received paperwork with the motor explaining the information on the testing of that particular motor. When I didn't recieve the dyno information they sent me a copy by email. When the time came that everything was done and the motor and wiring were complete we were having difficulties priming the motor. I brought it into the shop and they said there was no oil pump drive shaft. Rhino tried to double talk me so I said they should talk to the experts that had the car. They made no effort to talk to them and agreed to send another motor.
Within 3 days they had another motor ready for me. I paid extra to have it dynoed since I knew now they had lied to me about the dyno information they previously sent me.
I asked them to please look over the invoice to have it replaced, which totalled around $2200 and get back to me on scheduling a pickup of the other motor. The shop I was at said they were crooks and to hold onto the motor. Rhino said to send the invoice from the shop and they would look into what they would cover for a refund. Within a couple of days they sent another company that nobody was aware of to pick the bad motor up. They then called and asked why their engine was being held hostage, but nobody ever contacted either of us by phone, email or anything to say this other company was to pick up the motor. I contacted Rhino to ask them what was up and they asked why I was holding the motor hostage. They still didn't tell me what they were going to reimburse me but I scheduled a time for them to pick up the motor, big mistake on my part.
They offered me $50 an hour labor and said that's all they cover. I reluctantly agreed and they said I would see a check within 10 business days of 8-21-08, since they got the motor back and verified there was no oil pump drive shaft. After 15 days still no check. I then called and they said they were processing a check for $300, what? I threatened them with a small claims court and they agreed to the $658.20.
I waited the 2 months they said and have not yet recieved a dime. I called, faxed and emailed them daily, but they won't respond. I even turned them into the BBB and promised I would write this today unless I had a check by 01-12-09, almost 5 months since they said I would receive a check. I have emails for everything they have send and plan on taking them to small claims court. Good luck to anyone trying to get ahold of customer service at Rhino. There voice mail is full, probably of pissed of customers that Tim Cone won't get back too.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION. If you wan't a motor for your vehicle, pay extra and get it locally so you can go to the company if they rip you off!

Again, I have every email they sent me and feel I have no problem winning a court case, but collecting may be difficult.
