I went in to get a used car and turn in my used (5 year old van). They told me I could only qualify for a new car and it would have to be a lease.
I took a smart lease and after signing the contract for one APR, 18 days later they came and made me sign an APR that was 24 dollars a month higher, they told me I had to do it and actually came to the my store I worked at. This was after I was told I could not get a used vehicle I had to get a new one.
I did not know this was illegal, until I finally looked into it since I turned in the leased vehicle, and GMAC is making me pay an additional 1200.00 for a 4 inch scratch on the vehicle and additional days (I was going by the original date of the month which confused me).
They also claimed there was a scratch on the rear bumper, which was just repainted because someone rearended me, and it was like new.
They did not charge me for the bumper scratch, but the fact that they said had a scratch, after just coming out of the repair shop, is proof that they lied in the first place, just to charge even more money.
Looks like every body gets to extort and get bail outs, to take advantage of the disadvantaged, except for those who need it most.
Nice people, never again.
