D&m leasing ripoff... Do not buy/lease from d&m leasing!

The car in question was taken into a ford dealership (Prestige Ford) for repairs the very next day 5/8/08 after it was purchased. I began to hear a noise coming from the car like a popping/grinding especially when changing gears. Called ford that morning and they advised me to bring in immediately. They found that the rear end had been replaced with a high performance rear end that had not been properly maintained. They had the car 3 to 4 days replacing the rear end back to a ford factory rear end.

I drove the car approximately 3 weeks mind you only on the weekends primarily because i did ride share to work during the week, after 3 weeks i began to hear noises again, this time took back to another ford dealership (Murray Motors) at that time found the problem to be a caliper that was loose or missing, fixed it under warranty once again.

By this time we contacted D & M regarding the problems from day 2 of purchase and spoke with Courtney who told me that the car would have to be put in the shop serveral times before they could take the car back, if the car was put in the shop after several times and still not fixed they would make the dealership they bought from buy the car back and put me in a different car, was his exact words.

I drove the car for another short period of time and once again the noise came back, took it back to Murray Motors again, this time was informed that it was not a warrantied problem that there was a rear shock that was bent that was causing this noise which i dont understand how all the different problems made the same noise but this is what i am being told each time i take it in to service dept. So at that time I purchase a new shock and have it put on, drive the car 2 days and the noise is back again.

We contact Allison who was the original salesperson at D & M to ask her how many times this car has to go to the shop before they are going to take it back, she replies that she needs to know what type of car i want so she can get me out of that mustang and into something more reliable. So i forward her a couple of SUV's that i am interested in and they start looking.

Well in the meantime, Courtney calls me and tells me that i am going to have to be more reasonable with my choices to be able to keep my payments the same. So at this time my mother contacts Allison by email to verify just what the problem is considering the vehicles i had chosen were no more expensive in value than the mustang. After several un-answered emails we are informed that they are talking about me using this mustang as a trade in and will have to take the loss on the depreciation of the mustand and the fact that it has mechanical problems. So at this time the battle begins and my aunt who referred me to them because she had bought from Allison whom she went to high school with, starts contacting her by email letting her know that in no way will i be taking the lose on this vehicle.in the meantime we ask for a carfax report they should have provided at the sale, which they send and as stated by Lisa that it is a clean report.

At that time we pull our own report off line and the two reports do not match at all. The report we paid for shows the car to have been wrecked by the original owner. Now mind you D & M's moto per Allison was that they only buy from repitable dealers so that they know they are getting vehicles that have been thoroughly inspected and have never been wrecked. So as we see they have falsified both of those statements according to the mechanical problems i have incurred since day one and the fact that the car had been wrecked.

To date this car has been in the shop again at Rockwall ford for 3 weeks that time because the transmission began to not shift gears. So they overhauled the transmission and replaced a part and the car still made the noise, so they then replaced the front struts and had me pick up. 1week later the car is making the noise again and the only resolution that D&M can come to is to put me in a lease vehicle so no one is loosing on the deal.

Well i am sorry to say but i purchased this car in good faith that they were who they said they were and that they bought from dealers who inspected thoroughly and made sure they had never been wrecked. I am now finding out that this is not true and they say i purchased a used vehicle and in Texas used vehicles purchases are bought as is. But how can they say they only sell inpected vehicles that are thought to be free of mechanical problems and never been wrecked and i have purchased this one from them that has both wrong with it. They told me in the beginning that if the mechanical issues could not be resolved that they would make the dealership buy back.

I have now had this car 5months, paid 4 payments on it plus a trade in that i lost and the only thing they can offer me is to be upside down on this mustang or take a lease vehicle with the same monthly payment that will be no good to me at the end of the lease unless i want to make the large balloon payment at the end to be able to keep.

I am 19 years old and this has been my first car purchase and i have to tell you D&M has made it the worst car buying experience I hope i will ever have to go through. Between me, my mother and my aunt we have a large number of emails to and from D&M starting the first of July and they have informed that the only thing they are willing to do is put me in a lease vehicle.

This is very unfair and i just want them to buy the car back or make the dealership that they bought the car from buy back and get me out from under it. The manufacturers warranty recently expired and i'm left with nothing but mechanical bills at this time and it is not right. I have copies of all mechanical invoices and emails that have been exchanged between us and D&M.
