SUV listed on Autotrader.com. The Touareg SUV was listed by an Automobile dealership in Beaverton, Oregon named Herzog-Meier. After some several emails between our salesman Larry (I won't include his last name because it wasn't his fault we were scammed), we agreed to purchase the 2008 Volkswagen Touareg for the asking price as listed for $36,988.
Vehicle into Canada. Once transferred to Duane he said congratulations on your new purchase, it is a beautiful vehicle... You will love it... After all the bogus fluff which included he was the original salesman who sold this card before the original owner had recently traded it in..., Duane needed to call me back tomorrow the get my credit card information so he could take a $500 deposit to hold the vehicle until we could process all needed paper work (sounded good to me).
The next day (Saturday August 23) Duane called me back and asked for my credit information s he could process my $500.00 deposit. After giving him my Visa number Duane told me he would fax the bill of sale as well as all needed documents to import the Volkswagen Touareg into Canada.
On Tuesday August 26 (it was supposed to be Monday not Tuesday) Duane faxed me the Oregon Vehicle Certificate of Title, State of Oregon Secure Odometer Disclosure/Reassignment, and the Completed and filled out (with all my personal information) Herzog Meier Retail Purchase Agreement. Duane the a Canadian Vehicle Import Specialist said that I needed to fax these documents to the United States Boarder Service three days prior to the date I planned to pickup my purchased 2008 Volkswagen Touareg SUV.
After faxing all my papers and registering with the USA Boarder Control to export my 2008 Volkswagen Touareg SUV into Canada, I had made plans to fly down to Portland Oregon to pickup my 2008 Volkswagen Touareg SUV. Three days before I was planning to fly to Portland I contacted Duane at Herzog Meier to notify him that I would be arriving on September 5 (three days) to pickup my 2008 Volkswagen Touareg SUV. Duane told me he would have to call me back in 45 minutes. So 45 minutes Duane called me back and as soon as I finished saying hello Duane said there is some confusion, I am going to transfer you to the Volkswagen General Manger James Ryan.
My call was transferred to the GM James Ryan by a rude Hello, what do you need. I told him I was transferred by my salesman because there was some confusion. After GM James Ryan asked for my VIN he said how are you liking your new 2008 Volkswagen Touareg. I told him I haven't picked it up yet and that I was coming in three days to pick it up. GM James Ryan then replies in an offensive snicker I thought you picked up the 2008 Volkswagen Touareg last week. You purchased a red 2008 Volkswagen Touareg right? I said no the 2008 Volkswagen Touareg is Alaska Grey in color. GM James Ryan then replied you VIN ends with 001149, correct? We sold this 2008 Volkswagen Touareg last week to someone else. I replied I have a copy of a bill of sale and a copy of the vehicle title all with my personal information. GM James Ryan with an escalated snicker The 2008 Volkswagen Touareg is sold, what do you want me to do about it? I told him I wanted my vehicle, but his sarcastic reply was we get lots of used 2008 Volkswagen Touareg around here, I have your phone number and will give you a call if get another one in. No sorry, no we will pay for your plane ticket, no nothing for my wasted time and expenses, nothing.
Well that's my story. I strongly suggest that you be very careful when buying a vehicle from Herzog-Meier. It was a very costly mistake on my part to ever trust this group of liars.
